2010-12-29 Tournament players have waited all year for 2010 to end! If you want to download free poker in the New Year, definitely consider UB because UBOC 6 is almost upon us. Included in 2011's UB Online Championship is 29 events including the $ 1 million Championship Event and a $750k High Roller event. 29 people will receive an exclusive UBOC watch, and there is even a Tournament of Champions for the winners of UBOC 2010. If you were thinking about using Ultimate Bet for Mac, now is definitely the time!
Everything gets started on January 16th with a No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack event for $530. January 18th features the first Omaha event, so you can put your skills to the test and see if that free poker training paid off. If heads-up poker is your specialty, you should definitely check out Event 13, but register as soon as possible because it won't be possible to register late for this tourney. For those with huge bankrolls, the High Roller tournament is on January 23rd for $2.1k. You will find the largest prize pool in the Championship Event, though, which has a $ 1.05k buy-in. If you are new to money poker sites and find that these stakes are way out of your bankroll, you will have several chances to satellite into the events. Step satellites start as low as $0.10. Another solution for people just starting with online poker rooms is Mini-UBOC. Mini-UBOC has all of the same events, but they feature much smaller buy-ins. While you won't win a special watch, the prize pools will be large and the excitement of a final table will be there in spades! A lot of people have been waiting extremely impatiently for UBOC 6 to finally come around, so be sure to take advantage of it. If you prefer an Apple desktop, that is no problem since UB is one of the best Mac poker sites around. Have fun chasing a UBOC watch! 2010-11-18 If you are an Omaha player looking to download free poker, you should try UB. They have a new Royal Flush promo that works like a bad beat jackpot. They made a progressive Royal Flush Jackpot, and when someone hits a royal flush, they win 50% of the pot. This is a fun way to make the Omaha tables a bit more interesting.
If you have tried using the PartyPoker bonus code, you will know that certain tables offer the chance to win a bad beat jackpot. 50% of the jackpot is given out when someone loses a hand with quad 8s or better, and the rest of the table also wins a percentage of the jackpot. You will see that the Royal Flush promo is very much like this bad beat promo. 50% of the jackpot goes to the player with the royal flush, 25% goes to the players at the table where the royal flush was hit, and then the remaining 25% is divided amongst other people playing at Jackpot tables at the same limits. At UB you will have more chances to rake in the dough than at most other US poker sites! An important fact to know is that just 65% of the jackpot is handed out when a royal flush is made. The other 35% is divided as follows: 25% for the next Jackpot, 10% to UB for administration. If you have experience with a PokerStars bonus code, you might dislike that UB receives a tenth of the jackpot, but that is the price we pay for these kinds of promotions. If you want to win the Jackpot, you need to receive hands at a Royal Flush Jackpot table. Free poker no downloads is available at UB, so you can try your luck in secret at work if you want. These tables contribute 50 cents per hand to the Jackpot. There are a couple other conditions to keep in mind for winning the Royal flush Jackpot on this Mac poker site. At least four people had to have been playing the hand, and the hand must go to show down. Players sitting out at the time of the royal flush hand are not eligible for any share of the prize pool. If two Royal Flush Jackpot tables get dealt a royal flush at the same time, the table that started the hand first will win the Jackpot. I think I would hide behind my slot machine download for some time if I lost the Jackpot to another royal flush hand that started mere seconds before mine. I would be so mad! UB is a great place to play Omaha if you don't want to play the standard Texas Holdem games. It is comforting that you are not forced to download PokerStars to get action at Omaha tables. It is good for PokerStars to have a little competition! 2010-10-19 You have a lot in common with thousands of others if you chose to download free poker to play MTTs. In this case, it would be good to know about UB's tournament leaderboards. There is one big MTT leaderboard and three smaller SnG leaderboards, and there is cash to be won on each one.
UB, like many of the best US poker sites, uses a points system to rank their players. When you play a tournament, you get leaderboard points based on the prize pool and where you finished. The same formula is used for both MTTs and SnGs. Similar to the other best Mac poker sites, UB has a different MTT leaderboard for the week, month, and year. The weekly version takes your best 10 results, and $1k is awarded to the person that finishes on top. For the month, your top 20 results are used. This leaderboard has $ 14k to give out to its winners, with first place receiving $6.5k. And then last but definitely not least, the yearly leaderboard takes your top 100 results, just like with the PokerStars Bonus code. There is an exclusive freeroll for the top 50 players. 10th through 1st place receive cash. The best prize is given to the top 2, however: a WSOP Main Event buy-in worth $ 10,000! If you are new to Mac Poker sites, you might want to try the SnG leaderboards. This is because there are three divisions for different buy-ins. The Diamond division is for buy-ins less than $20. The total weekly prize pool for Diamond is $1.5k while the prize pool for the month is $5k. If you play between $21 and $50, you belong to the Heart division. The weekly Heart prize pool is $3,000 while the monthly prize pool is $7,000. If you are so serious about poker that you quit playing Internet slots, you might be the perfect candidate for winning the Spade division for stakes over $51. This division has a $6k prize pool for the week and a $ 10k prize pool for the month. Placing well on leaderboards is a great way to make a tournament player more ambitious and excited to play. Perhaps you should watch some poker videos to improve your game. It will be worth it if you can finish in first place! 2010-09-17 People hoping to download free poker will be contemplating playing at UB, so it would be good to meet another UB advocate in Adam Levy. Online players will know him as 'Roothlus' since that is the username he chose to use on US friendly poker sites. The 28 year old player was born in Flushing, New York and he currently lives in Orlando, Florida. He was a student working a job as a server before he started playing poker.
Levy has cashed for over $3 million on the best online poker sites, something most people cannot say for themselves. An interesting fact regarding Levy's resume of online cashes is that there isn%u2019t a single tournament win that surpasses $387.5k, yet he still has over $3 million in cashes. This proves that he has been very consistent since entering the poker world. He won that $387k placing 2nd in an FTOPS event on his Full Tilt Poker download back in 2009. He also won $80k on Full Tilt in the $750,000 Guaranteed. He earned his biggest PokerStars cash a few years ago when he finished 3rd in the Sunday Million for $56,990. Levy has over $ 1.5 million in live winnings, too, a large portion coming from tournaments in US poker rooms. He had his largest cash ever in this year's World Series of Poker Main Event after going incredibly deep and finishing 12th. Missing the November Nine was very disappointing, but he must have been pleased to add an extra $635k to his bank account. Before this year, his best cash in a live event was a couple years ago for $266k. When Levy plays online poker, he follow a fairly consistent routine. He says he usually gets up an hour or two prior to competing on money poker sites because going to his computer first thing after waking up isn't his style. He, like many other people, just can't start the day right until he has a shower and some breakfast. He likes to listen to music while he plays although you might be surprised to learn his genre of preference: techno. Once his day is over and he has had enough of the best US poker sites for one day, he players FIFA on his XBOX to unwind. I like a man that knows what he's doing! If you would like the chance to sit at the table with Levy one day, go ahead and get a poker download and start practicing your game. It should not be overly difficult to find plenty of free poker training out there so even the most inexperienced player should make progress fairly quickly. 2010-08-15 If you have the notion to download free poker but you cannot choose between the multitude of US poker sites, there is a chance it will help you to read about Eric Baldwin, another member of Team UB. At just 27 years old, Baldwin is another young player that has found great success in live tournament poker. He was born in WI, so it's not surprising that he went to the University of Wisconsin for a Psychology degree with a minor in Mathematics. He currently lives in Las Vegas.
Baldwin sometimes plays tournaments on the best US poker sites, but since he has earned over $3 million playing live events, he is mostly known as a live tournament pro. He has one bracelet on his list of wins, earning over $500k in Event 34, a $ 1,500 NL Hold'em event. While he didn't make any final tables this year in the WSOP, he still had some nice cashes. He had his best cash in the Main Event where he placed 59th and received $ 138k in return. This young tournament star can also be found playing the big WPT events. He had a great year last year, first finishing 3rd in a Legends of Poker event in August and then winning a Five Diamond World Poker Classic event near the end of the year. The previous year in 2008 he won Event 2 for $ 148,860 in the Five Star World Classic Poker Classic. I wonder if Baldwin ever makes a free slots download to get his mind off the pressure of playing tournaments? Since he is sponsored by UB, Baldwin plays the rest of his poker on top Texas Hold'em sites. He has stated that online play differs from live play because preflop is much more aggressive online. He tries to earn most of his chips without showdown when he plays online in contrast to live where he will attempt to see many pots multi-way and win chips that way. Baldwin was the Card Player 2009 'Player of the Year', so he is obviously doing something right when it comes to poker. If you're looking to get into money poker sites, be sure to carefully consider which site you choose. An Everest Poker download has some good features, but as you%u2019ve seen from my previous articles, UB is a great site too. 2010-07-19 Brandon Cantu, like Hellmuth and Duke, would tell you to download free poker from UB. The 29 year old player learned to play poker from his grandpa, and then he practiced his game in Oregon casinos. He currently lives in Las Vegas because he can easily get to casinos for US players there.
The decision to go pro came in 2006 in Vegas after winning a bracelet in Event 2 of the World Series. Amazingly, that was the first major tournament he ever played! It certainly wasn't his last, though! He has done quite well in US poker rooms. Where WSOP is concerned, he won his 2nd bracelet and $228,967 in a PLO event. That same year he placed second in Event 39 for $403,951. His best showing in the Main Event was 2 years back when he was 20th for just over $250k. He also has three cashes in the World Poker Tour including his first WPT title in the Bay 101 Shooting Star championship for $1 million. Because he also earned $30k for busting 6 bounty players, he earned the nickname 'The Bounty Hunter'. I wouldn't be surprised if the six pros he busted during that tournament wished he were at home playing flash Texas Holdem so that he couldn't knock them out! Cantu's live tournament cashes add up to over $3.4 million. He's on Team UB, though, so you'd think that he must sometimes play in online casinos for USA players. Unlike a lot of the other players I've written about in my blog, he actually doesn't spend that much time playing on money poker sites as he's always been primarily a live player. This does not mean that he doesn't play online at all, however. He went for the obvious choice of 'brandoncantu' for his UB screen name, and he plays tournaments and a bit of high stakes cash. Part of the reason for Cantu's success in tournament poker is that he is a very aggressive player. You should forget about your intention to download free casino games if you want a chance to become as successful as Cantu. Instead, make an account at UB and start practicing your tournament game! 2010-06-30 Looks like it's time for another blog entry! Today we shall talk about Tiffany Michelle, another UB bonus representative. Michelle has only been playing professionally for around four years, but her good looks and World Series success has caused her to become famous very quickly. She broke the record for the largest field ever overcome by a lady after placing 17 out of 6,844 in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. She chose to wear a UB patch once she went deep in the event, so it's been a couple years since she started encouraging the UB bonus.
Michelle is 25 years old and she grew up in California. Since completing a theatre program at UCLA, she has been on several television programs like American Dreams and The Amazing Race. Her resume also features song writing and a beauty pageant win. She used her talent of finding the spotlight when she got into US poker sites. She became the commentator for WSOP coverage on a satellite radio station, and then she got a gig on camera for hosting tournaments for PokerNews. Michelle can be seen playing tournaments of all stakes on her UB download. While she likes bounty tournaments the best, she's also partial to deep stack events. Because she prefers deep chip stacks, it's not a big shock to learn that she also participates in cash games. She can be found being dealt Texas Hold Em hands at the 200NL to 600NL buy-ins. Michelle is definitely taking advantage of her fortunate situation. The poker community asked why she elected to promote UB instead of a Full Tilt Poker download, but it definitely went well for her. It's safe to say that she will spend the next few years building up her poker resume as she uses her good looks and personality to charm the poker world. 2010-06-15 To continue with the theme of writing about Team UB, my article will describe Joe Sebok, another poker professional that encourages a UB bonus. If you don't recognize Sebok, you should almost certainly have heard of Barry Greenstein, his stepdad. Originally from San Francisco, Sebok turned professional in 2005. He started supporting a UB bonus in the second half of 2009.
Tournament poker is Sebok's specialty, and he's cashed live events for a total of just below $2 million. While he's cashed in the WSOP 15 times, he's still waiting for his first bracelet. His best showing in the Main Event has been 56th place, which happened in 2009. Seeing as he plays predominantly tournaments, I'm curious to know if he ever secretly plays on a Full Tilt Poker download or uses a PokerStars bonus code from time to time. I guess it's a UB pro's job to keep that stuff private, so I'll probably never know! The poker community is fairly familiar with Sebok for a variety of reasons. He founded PokerRoad.com with Greenstein, a website that contains blogs, radio, and TV all related to poker. He co-hosts the PokerRoad Radio with Gavin Smith, fellow professional player and good friend. Maybe you have heard of the Internet show 'Prop Bets', a show in which Sebok and Smith bet against each other in various prop bets in things such as mechanical bull riding and eating. The idea for the show came from the prop bet that Sebok lost to Smith that caused Sebok to wear 3 different costumes to the WSOP ME in 2006, including a diaper-wearing bear, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. His life may be strange, but it's pretty clear that Sebok doesn't need poker downloads and MTTs to pay the bills. Sebok is only in his thirties, and we can expect a lot more out of him as the years continue to roll on. He's only just started his poker career, and one would think that he'll win a WSOP bracelet in the near future. He improved his game online when he first learned to play poker, so if you strive to become a great player, you should do the same. However, Sebok would encourage you to forget everything you've heard about a Carbon Poker download or a Bodog bonus. He's just trying to be a good UB rep! 2010-05-31 Last time I told you about Phil Hellmuth because he is a professional player that would encourage a UB bonus, and today I will tell you about another UB representative: Annie Duke. One of the most successful lady poker pros of this time, Duke won a World Series of Poker title in 2004 in an Omaha Hi-Low tournament. You'll probably know her brother, Howard Lederer. Duke grew up with Lederer in New Hampshire, and he was the person that eventually taught her how to play poker.
Duke has been representing UB and the UB bonus for 10 years now. She's done quite well since she started playing professionally, as she's cashed for over $4 million in live MTT poker. Her most successful finish in the WSOP Main Event was 10th place in 2000, the year she started with UB and the year she also had her 3rd child. She's cashed in the WSOP an impressive 37 times, bringing her total WSOP cashes to $1.1 million in total, and she won $2 million in the WSOP Tournament of Champions back in 2004. Being female helps but isn't the sole reason Duke is a famous poker professional. She tutored Ben Affleck to poker success in 2004 when he won the California State Poker Championship. She's been on the Colbert Report (the first poker player to do so), she's appeared on the show 1 vs 100 three times, and she appeared on Deal or No Deal one time. She is also well known for participating in Celebrity Apprentice in 2009 where she came 2nd behind Joan Rivers despite the fact that she collected three times more cash for her charity, Refugees International. Also consider that you'll find her on UB's Best Damn Poker Show, and you have to wonder how she ever has time to play any poker hands. Duke proudly supports American poker online, and she speaks up when she thinks something is wrong. She publically dislikes the rule that players are not allowed to have logos on their clothes during select live tournaments. One quote from her on this subject: 'We are not even slaves. We're people paying to pick the cotton.' There's no doubt that Duke has taken advantage of the fact she's one of a few women in the game, but she disagrees with the fact that there are tournaments open only to women. In her words, "Poker is one of the few sports where a woman can compete on a totally equal footing with a man, so I don't understand why there's a ladies only tournament." It doesn't come as a surprise that as a result, she refuses to participate in ladies only tournaments. Annie Duke is an excellent representative for both UB and poker in general. When people see her on TV, it encourages them to play on legal US poker sites and participate in one of the best games around. You can join her at the tables on UB - make a UB download today! 2010-05-15 One very famous professional poker player that would agree with earning a UB bonus would be a UB representative famous for his temper tantrums as much as his countless World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, Phil Hellmuth. Born July 16, 1964 in Wisconsin, Hellmuth was the first of five children and went to school at the University of Wisconsin. He has two sons, and he and his wife, Kathy, currently live in California.
You wouldn't think it, but people are encouraged to earn their UB bonus when they find out that UB's most prominent spokesman holds so many outstanding records. It's just amazing to find out that he has won 11 WSOP bracelets, the first won when he was just 24 years old in 1989 and the most recent one won in 2007. He has the record for the most WSOP cashes with 75 and the highest number of final table appearances (41). His total WSOP winnings total $6.1 million which ranks him 9th on the WSOP All Time Money List. Many people are surprised when they find out that Hellmuth has yet to win a World Poker Tour (WPT) MTT, although he does have 3 final tables under his belt. He's actually been able to cash 11 times in WPT tournaments and he has $691k in total winnings. All these records and cashes caused him to be brought into the Poker Hall of Fame back in 2007. While Hellmuth's MTT poker success certainly allowed him to become a famous figure in the poker world, he is probably most well known for his antics and tantrums at the tables. It's clear he thinks incredibly highly of himself, and it takes little more than a suck out to have him raging. He often mocks and bashes those that play in ways he deems less than optimal, calling them names and questioning their intelligence. In 2008 during WSOP he got a penalty for verbally abusing a player after he showed the table that he'd caused Hellmuth to fold a hand preflop with suited rags. Because of all his antics, poker players and spectators eventually gave him a special nickname: 'The Poker Brat'. It looks like Hellmuth is making good use of his unique nickname, however. He started a clothing line using the name Poker Brat, and he's even written a book called Poker Brat. He's actually written several books, he's made several DVDs, and he even partnered with Oasys Mobile to make a mobile phone poker game. He writes about interesting poker hands in a newspaper column called 'Hand of the Week', and he blogs for both CardPlayer and UB. Add all his TV appearances and coaching opportunities, and you'll see that Hellmuth has more going on than just tournament poker. You hear so much about getting a Full Tilt download or using a PokerStars bonus code, but it's really important to not overlook UB's site. Use a UB referral code and clear your bonuses by playing the same games that Hellmuth plays. If you strive to one day be as successful as Hellmuth at poker, the best way to practice is by playing online. If you haven%u2019t already done so, visit my previous entries for more information about playing at UB. | Author
